This is a one-day workshop with Nicki Franklin where you will start a slow stitched huswif to incorporate a piece of embroidery of your choice (come along to the previous day and work on a new design from Nicki to go with it if you like!)

Nicki created the huswif in anticipation of her visit to Lisa Mattock (Forage, Australia) to showcase how the two disciplines (slow stitch and embroidery) work together. Included in the price of this class is access to the online portion of Lisa’s Slow Stitch 101 workshop which will provide some context to Nicki’s class.

Nicki will provide the slow stitch kits for your huswif (to include new and vintage materials) and she will explain the techniques, helping everyone to work on their pieces.

The huswif is a large needlebook with pages to park your needles and pins, a ribbon tie for your embroidery hoops and pockets for scissors and fabric scraps.

Whilst we won’t finish the piece on the day, you will learn all of the techniques you need to finish the huswif at home with the kit provided.

The class will run from 10am - 4pm with plenty of refreshments provided but please do bring your own lunch.

Kits for the slow stitching will be provided by Nicki but please bring any finished embroidery that you might wish to incorporate in your huswif. (Nicki is teaching a new Summer Florals class the day before, designed with the huswif in mind if you fancy making a trip of it!)
