NEW Autumn 2025: A Quiet Autumn Day
NEW Autumn 2025: A Quiet Autumn Day
Designed for my visit to New England this year (a trip I have always wanted to make), this pretty Autumnal scene captures the vivid colours of the season in a fun and simple embroidery.
With careful placement of a few simple stitches (well, a lot of French knots) you can create a beautiful textural scene to frame or use within a functional item - whatever is your thing! The important part is to set aside time for yourself to be quiet, peaceful and still. Slow down the clock and have a few minutes to be creative - it’s a great piece to practise your watercolour onto fabric too.
The kit includes printed antique linen (10” square) with a generously filled thread card and full instructions.
design is approx 12cm by 10cm
It also contains the fabric for applique and a little fusible web.
You will need to use your own watercolour paints for this kit - four colours are required and we recommend the Winsor and Newton professional OR Cotman range (a small Cotman set will cost about £15 and last several years!)
The kit includes antique hand-printed linen, instructions and all threads required to complete the embroidery.
Note; because we antique linen then there will be variation in the colour, texture and weight from piece to piece.
You will need to have a simple sewing kit to include small, sharp, embroidery scissors, an assorted packet of embroidery/crewel needles and an embroidery hoop.
All of our kits have been completed by complete beginners but we do rate our kits on a scale of 1-3 to help you
The ratings are
1) Absolute beginner
2) Enthusiastic beginner
3) Accomplished beginner
This kit is rated - 3 - for Accomplished Beginners and above
Ideal as gifts or for yourself, The Stitchery embroidery kits are designed with beginners in mind, as well as advanced stitchers.
The aim is not to produce a perfect piece of needlework but to encourage the stitcher to slow down and enjoy a little old-fashioned calmness and serenity in a world that is becoming increasingly fast-paced and perhaps a little stressful at times.
