Thanks, as always, to lovely Kate Nicole for her beautiful illustration.

The Stitchery Studio is situated on the beautiful Castle Ashby estate in Northamptonshire.   Castle Ashby House is the ancestral home of the 7th Marquess of Northampton and set in the heart of a 10,000 acre estate.   The 35 acres of gardens are open to the public all year round.  The gardens are a real local treasure, lots of nooks and crannies to explore with a little menagerie for the children.  Food at the tea room there is very good (cakes are delicious) and the plant shop has a beautiful selection at very good prices.  There is a large, clean park for the children to play whilst you have a coffee at one of the tables nearby and the House allows picnics on the lawns.  Definitely worth a visit if you haven't already been.

You'll find us in the Woodyard, just past the Rural Shopping Area and within a stone's throw of The Falcon Hotel (currently undergoing refurbishment and due to reopen in Autumn 2018).  If you're planning to visit, do drop us a line first to ensure that we are here.  Similarly, if you are coming for a wander around the gardens be sure to pop by and say hello.  We'd love to see you.

There are lots of pretty walks, cycle trails and a fishing lake in the surrounding area with a cosy cafe and artisan deli at the rural shopping yard if you need refreshment too.  All in all a very lovely corner of the Earth.

By Rail/Bus:

The closest train stations are Northampton and Wellinborough.  Castle Ashby bus stop is right outside the Stitchery studio.

By Car:

From J15 on the M1 head towards Northampton on the A45.  Leave the A45 at the Bedford A428 turning (the roundabout has a flyover) and continue along the A428 past the watersports centre on your right, passing HSBC, Shoosmiths Solicitors, The Hungry Horse pub and a Premier Inn.  You'll pass turnings for Brafield on the Green and Denton villages, the turning for Castle Ashby is then on the left.  Take care along this country road as it is quite narrow and it is used regularly by farm machinery.  Keep going past Chadstone village on your left and past the signs for Castle Ashby Gardens, heading towards the Rural Shopping Area.  Once you've passed the rural shopping area you will find The Stitchery on a right-hand turning close to the Falcon.
