We are delighted to welcome Anna Victoria to The Stitchery Studio, all the way from Melbourne in Australia! Nicki has long admired her gorgeous makes and is excited to have her come teach here in rural Northamptonshire.

There are three days in total with Anna to choose from including bracelets, brooches and pin cushions. Day three, Monday 30th August, will be a pin cushion class and they are beyond cute! Class runs from 10am - 4pm with a break for lunch. A light sandwich lunch will be provided together with tea, coffee and biscuits. This is a great opportunity to learn from an international artist - it will be Anna’s first visit to teach in the UK and we are excited to introduce her to our Stitchery community.

Anna is an Australian textile and mixed media artist who works from her home studio creating whimsical, story-rich pieces of art many of which are designed to serve a function in daily life - to be touched, used and admired regularly. Her work blends fabric, embroidery, embellishment and illustration, with a focus on mindful hand-stitching and a deep love of the creative process.

Some of Anna's earliest and most beloved creations are her Liberty and Linen embroidered pincushions - most commonly featuring an embroidered Queen Bee in the centre, surrounded by a garden of tiny Liberty London hexagons. Over the years, Anna has expanded the design of her pincushions to include more intricate embroidered wreaths around tiny circles of Liberty London pictorial fabrics. The Liberty fabrics are fussy cut to highlight a particular story or character, and the embroidered wreathes continue that story through stitch.

Join Anna for a day to make these divine little pincushions from start to finish, using English paper piecing, applique and embroidery. The workshop includes written instructions and a kit which contains everything you need.

No prior sewing experience is necessary to enjoy this workshop - it is the perfect way to dip your toes into the world of embroidery.
